North Ross Meadows
Skied the meadows above the middle fork of Bracket Creek today and found 145 cm on a NE aspect at about 7600’. The snow from last week had settled down to around 55 cm in total and appeared to be bonding well. No sign of the January surface hoar either, so overall the upper portion of the snowpack was looking pretty good considering the recent bombardment. 25-40 cm of depth hoar is alive and well at the ground though and was reactive in a PST (33/110 (end)). No other signs of instability throughout the day, I was bummed to see the return of the dreaded East wind last night but it thankfully remained calm below the ridge today.
